Leominster native Jim Remy, general manager at Okemo Valley GC in Vermont, will take over as president of the PGA of America next month. Not bad for someone who was hired for his first golf job at Worcester Country Club only after his resume was fished out of the trash.

This is a great week for senior golfers in southeastern Massachusetts. The Brockton Seniors Amateur Golf Association will hold its 48th annual tournament today and Tuesday at Thorny Lea Golf Club and D.W. Field Golf Club respectively, followed by an awards banquet on Wednesday at Brockton Country Club.
