The Orange branch of the NAACP on Friday honored the pioneering families who filed the lawsuit 46 years ago to desegregate Orange County schools. Members from four of the eight families that filed the lawsuit in 1962 were recognized during the civil-rights organization's 53rd annual Freedom Fund Banquet fundraiser at the Rosen Centre Hotel in Orlando.
